Plastic Surgeon

A Bit About Me

I was born and raised in Singapore and attended medical school at the University of Glasgow on a Shaw Foundation scholarship. Along the way, my training journey was not without its challenges. In medical school, I was advised to consider paths other than surgery, and early in my postgraduate years in Singapore, I was thought to be less suited for a surgical career.

Nevertheless, my pursuit of excellence in Plastic Surgery took me across the world - from Glasgow to Boston, Oxford, London, Paris, Hong Kong and Switzerland - where I learnt that dedication, patience and empathy are as essential to surgery as technical skill.

These experiences have shaped my approach to care and reaffirmed that my greatest professional satisfaction comes from working closely with patients in a focused, calm setting. I welcome patients from Singapore and around the world who seek safe, natural, and individualised results.

My Approach to Plastic Surgery

WhatsApp Image 2021-04-27 at 6.36.38 PM.jpeg

I am committed to providing a calm and supportive environment where every patient can approach plastic surgery with confidence. From the first consultation, my goal is to ensure that each person feels listened to, understood and well-informed. I believe that trust is built not through promises, but through clarity, consistency and attention to detail.

I do not believe in “signature” procedures. Every well-trained plastic surgeon should be competent across the full spectrum of aesthetic surgery. What sets outcomes apart is not a proprietary method, but a deep understanding of anatomy, patient selection and meticulous execution. My focus is therefore on precision and planning, rather than marketing procedures under new names.

Every person’s anatomy, goals and healing process are unique. In Singapore, medical professionals are not permitted to display before-and-after images - a regulation I  actually support, as results will vary for each individual. The best way to understand what’s achievable for you is through a personal consultation. My approach blends international surgical precision with an understanding of diverse aesthetic ideals.

Beyond Surgery

I hold a PhD from the University of Glasgow for research conducted at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and have been recognised with several international awards. I have also developed training programmes for young surgeons in London, teaching microsurgery at the Royal Society of Medicine and aesthetic medicine on Harley Street.

Before the pandemic, I founded Doctor Stitch, the only house-call service dedicated to providing personalised wound care in Singapore at the time. This experience inspired my award-winning submission for the 2024 BAAPS Face, Eyes & Nose Prize. Doctor Stitch has since evolved into a comprehensive post-operative cosmetic surgery aftercare service.

I continue to combine clinical practice, education and research, ensuring that my patients benefit from the latest international standards and techniques.
